Celebrating Diversity - Rewarding Excellence

Screen Nation is very happy to announce that the 13th edition of the Screen Nation Film & TV Awards took place successfully on Sunday 18th Feb 2018 at the ILEC Banqueting Centre in Fulham in the presence of industry executives, respected creatives, top directors and famous actors & presenters from today and yesteryear. The dazzling event was themed under Black Panther in homage to the release of the seminal superhero movie, with the historic film receiving its very first award at a ceremony co-hosted by the debonair  Simon Frederick of #BlackistheNewBlack BBC fame alongside actress and queen of Twerk fitness, the inimitable Kelechi Okafor.

Work has already begun on the 14th edition, which is set to take place next February 2019 right in the midst of the global awards season as always in the weekend between the film Baftas and the Oscars. With a new venue and exciting new hosts to be announced in October, the 2019 show and its lead up will witness a complete refresh of the awards structure with new leadership, partnerships and a new shape to the ceremony with a whole new demographic mix as part of the ceremony guest list.

With the 2nd Screen Nation Hall of Fame induction and a unique Stunt Workshop taking place this coming October BHM made possible in part through complimentary room hire of 195 Piccadilly provided courtesy of BAFTA’s Gift of the Academy scheme, this alongside an exciting series of online and event led Diversity initiatives being developed via a unique partnership with the University of the Arts London by way of London College of Communication's prestigious Screen School there are exciting times ahead for Screen Nation.

'Thank you so much for this huge huge honor, I’m very grateful to have this wonderful little man and I shall treasure him very much.... I’m Blessed to be working in this industry when I know how hard it is for actors of color... thank you Screen Nation for
believing in me.'

'Thank you Screen Nation for your long lasting support of me as an actor... There is much work to be done to increase opportunities for black and brown people in UK ’s entertainment industries, but
it all starts with excellence. If we are excellent and work hard and create and never take “No” as a valid answer, soon and very soon we shall overcome.'

I’d like to say how absolutely thrilled I am to be the recipient of such an important award, which I know is only given to a
select number of people and I’m terribly terribly proud to know that I am one of them. Thank you very very much.”

'Its amazing! Just by being here, we’ve already won!. Much love and I’m obliged to Charles Thompson and all the people who make Screen
