The Screen Nation Film & TV Awards is uniquely the only industry related annual international celebration of achievement within black world cinema and TV in the UK.
Every year the Awards celebrate the cascade of achievements that have helped enrich world and UK cinema & TV with cultural diversity.
The Screen Nation Awards has confirmed itself as an industry recognised event supported by industry bodies and all of the major terrestrial and satellite broadcasters and has been broadcast on a number of channels on the Sky platform since its inception.
This important media event promotes the many world-renowned artists who are held in high esteem by TV and movie lovers, proving that black screen talent of all grades are ready to receive the highest acclaim for their achievements.
Combining the glamour of international movie stars alongside British talent, the event has been dubbed by the Independent Newspaper as the ‘Black Bafta’s’. The event brings together actors, actresses, directors and filmmakers from many of the UK and the international industries most prestigious and well-known movies & TV shows.
The night consists of an exciting and glamorous awards ceremony, top quality live comedy and music entertainment in the heart of London’s West End. A first ever ceremony was held at the Empire Leicester Square in 2003, with a Party at the glamorous Mezzo and then in 2004 at the swanky Park Lane Hotel. 2005 saw a glitzy event held at the Prince Charles Cinema followed by stunning events at the London Hilton, Park Lane and Metropole. Since then events have been held at the prestigious BAFTA HQ and the IndigO2. From 2013, the awards will return and remain in its spiritual home of the very best 4* central London Hotels.
