The Awards

Awards Night

Returning once again to the newly multi-million pound refurbished 4 star Park Plaza Riverbank on Sunday 7th May, the 12th Screen Nation Film & Television Awards will be hosted by two soon to be announced, much loved TV personalities, with the Red Carpet arrivals, BTS and Awards ceremony set to be streamed live on social media with highlights broadcast a few weeks later on a Sky based channel in the UK and Europe on DStv across the Africa continent and online across the world.

Themed under ‘New, Next, Now, Forever Black’, industry backed Achievement Awards, presented by a host of well-known faces, will recognize both audience favorites, emerging British film & TV talent and legendary artists. The ceremony takes place on the week-end before the Television BAFTA’s and will be held in the presence of top British talent touted for future Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, Olympic and world sporting champions, titans of business and finance, crème de la crème of Nollywood alongside many more from the worlds of music, politics, media and high society.

As usual the Awards will also feature the cream of the black British film & TV scene alongside established mainstream stars from some of the UK’s most popular movies and TV shows.

Invited guest of honor and recipient of this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award will be a hugely respected African Diaspora movie star, director and/or producer with a history of many outstanding and compelling movies and television of at least the past three decades behind their name. Winner of the highest UK honor will be a veteran star who has made an important and significant contribution to the British TV, film and theatre landscape and is considered one of the most respected veteran African Caribbean talents working within the industry today.

In celebration of their anniversary years, 2017 award recipients will include the Classic Movie Award for what are sure to be either a stunning debut classic or unforgettable musical, comedy or drama  or just a plain old classic movie.

Its going to be a great night so….
